Thank you for visiting my site!
My name is Chris Heder. I was born and raised in South Florida and have always had a deep interest in technology, systems, and how things work behind the scenes. After starting my career in retail and loss prevention, I transitioned into tech by completing the Wyncode Academy coding bootcamp in 2016 and earning my Associate's in Arts from Broward College in 2017.
Since then, I've built my career in software quality. I spent several years as a Lead QA Engineer focused on API and platform testing, where I designed robust automated test suites, created internal monitoring dashboards, and helped shape the company's QA practices. I currently work as a QA Engineer III and lane lead for Ultra Mobile / Mint Mobile, where I own test strategy and execution for our Ultra e-commerce front-end lane and support automation for our iOS and Android apps. My work centers around API testing, test automation, and end-to-end release validation in a fast-paced Agile environment.
Outside of work, I'm a maker at heart. Over the past few years I've built a fully functional smart home based on Home Assistant, tying together lights, sensors, media, and custom automations using Raspberry Pis, ESPHome devices, and other custom hardware. I've also combined my love of vintage tech and electronics with 3D printing and woodworking, integrating classic Western Electric phone/switchboard equipment and other retro hardware into modern projects. Many of these projects become ongoing experiments where I refine designs, explore new technologies, and push creative engineering ideas forward.
